PRODUCT REVIEW: Bleame Crystal Hair Eraser

Effective but Oppressively Time-Consuming

I am a hairy lady, I hate to admit. My whole life, I’ve had hair on my head that is fine and thick, ranging from white-blonde to its current light brown, but the hair on my legs has always been fairly dark and thick, despite me not being a regular shaver. As such, I’ve always been looking for alternative ways to remove my leg hair, because no matter how much of a hippy I become, I just really hate having long, dark hair on my legs. I like ‘em smooth, what can I say? Aside from shaving, I have tried waxing (too painful and causes too many severe in-grown hairs), epilation (too time consuming, too painful, and too many severe in-grown hairs), Veet and other brands of hair removal cream (burns the hell out of my skin), and the Colibry threading epilator (brutally time-consuming and not as painless as promised), so when I came across the Bleame crystal hair eraser, I figured I’d give that a go and see how it works.

First of all, I’m not 100% sure that Bleame isn’t an outright scam. They have a very sketchy website with very little information that’s heavily pushing the product and various discounts, which is always a bad sign. They also have the product listed as about 47€ but there’s a permanent site discount that puts them at 29€, though I’ve seen other places sell them for 8€, 10€, and 20€, so really, you can shop around if you’re interested in trying them out and you’ll absolutely find better deals than Bleame has them for. It’s also worth noting that many of the reviews on their website from verified users don’t sound like reviews that real humans write, they sound like reviews written by a marketing team. Real people don’t write perfect, polished, concise reviews, they write their thoughts and feelings, so those reviews feel extremely fake.

As for what the crystal hair remover does, the idea is that there is a soft pad of crystals that claims that you should be able to gently rub your legs to soften and eventually remove the hairs. Here’s where you should take my personal review with a grain of salt, because I will say that the device does indeed work, but in order to remove hair from below the knee to the foot, I have to literally spent at least an hour on one leg scrubbing as hard as I can for it to work and the website claims that you should not need to do that, that a gentle rubbing is more than enough. The longer my leg hair, the longer it takes, and it’s next door to useless around the base of my ankles and other areas. I will say that the result is absolutely spectacular—my legs feel baby soft, perfectly exfoliated, and so, so, so smooth, but the sheer magnitude of effort required to achieve this is frankly just not worth it and is definitely not what the product promises.

It’s also worth mentioning that I did get a 2-pack with my friend (since there is a very small discount—47€ for two), who has a lot of thick moles on her legs and cannot shave because of them also wanted to try the Bleame and was also not impressed. She said it required her to almost rub her skin raw in order to get the hair off, and if you check the negative reviews on Trustpilot, you’re liable to find a lot of similar complaints about skin burns.

I will say that it is possible that, if I were to use it daily, I might have a great time with it, but I’m not the kind of person who has regular beauty regimes, absolutely not daily ones, so I’m looking for convenience above all-else and Bleame unfortunately completely failed at providing that. I can’t say that you should absolutely not consider it, but do take their promises and price with a grain of salt and perhaps consider trying a cheaper one from somewhere else in order to make sure you don’t feel like you’re blowing your money on something that you have, at best, a 50% chance of liking. Myself, I’ll be continuing my search for hair removal alternatives elsewhere.
