Gathering of Geeks S02E02: James Edward Raggi IV

Gathering of Geeks is back in its second season! Thanks for being here!

The second special geek of season 2 was James Edward Raggi IV, who is a fellow former media owner/writer, as well as the creator of Lamentations of the Flame Princess! These two geeks met through a mutual friend and their mutual interest in music and TTRPGs led to this episode, where James tells a fascinating story about his history as a young metal snob and music media owner, moving to Finland, and eventually changing Lamentations of the Flame Princess from a metal magazine to an OSR (old-school renaissance) system with a focus on horror themes. Afterwards, they discuss controversy and cancellation, as well as the modern internet way of overcorrecting worthy causes.
